retai-tai-rosso-veneto-igt
Retai Tai Rosso Veneto IGT

The roots of a land. Radici Tai Rosso Veneto IGT by Masiero Wine is born of Mattia Masiero's bond with his own land and with the Colli Berici, in the province of Vicenza. If Preludio marks the beginning of his path in the world of wine, Radici tells of his belonging: the relationship with the place he hails from, expressed through Tai Rosso, one of the most representative and identity-defining grape varieties of Berici winegrowing. Masiero's vineyards lie in Mossano, in the heart of the Colli Berici, set in a hilly landscape where woods, cultivated land and natural areas help create an environment rich in biodiversity. Here limestone rock plays a fundamental role alongside the red clays, while exposures, low rainfall and day-night temperature swings contribute to the area's particular vocation for red grape varieties.

The Tai Rosso vines are trained using the traditional Veronese pergola system and the grapes are picked by hand in mid-September. Winemaking takes place in the Lumignano cellar, on the eastern slope of the Colli Berici, following a low-intervention approach. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts, using a pied de cuve, while maceration on the skins continues for 12 days with manual punch-downs. Once winemaking is complete, Radici ages for 12 months in third-fill barriques, followed by a further 6 months of ageing in the bottle. The wine is bottled without filtration, preserving its character and expression as far as possible.

In the glass Radici expresses the character of Tai Rosso with a fragrant, elegant profile. The nose offers notes of cherry, small red fruits and delicate spicy nuances. On the palate it is fresh and harmonious, with a fine, silky tannic weave, well-defined fruit and a balanced, persistent sip. Wood ageing supports the structure without weighing down the character of the grape, preserving its freshness and recognisability. Radici thus stands for the most direct bond between Masiero Wine and the Colli Berici: a Tai Rosso Veneto IGT in which grape, land and cellar work become an expression of the roots from which Mattia Masiero's project takes shape.

Product Sheet:

Grape variety: Tai Rosso

Vintage: 2025

Production area: Colli Berici – Vicenza, Veneto.

Altitude: 150-180 m above sea level.

Soil characteristics: Mainly limestone soils, with the presence of red clays.

Training system: Veronese pergola.

Exposure: south

Sensory notes: Fragrant, elegant profile.
