The Groppello IGT Veneto from the Firmino Miotti winery is a red wine with character, obtained from 100% Groppello di Breganze grapes, an ancient native vine grown on the volcanic hills of Colle Santa Lucia in Breganze.
This wine, with a strong connection to the territory, boasts a history that dates back to the Middle Ages and is appreciated for its tannic structure and its extraordinary capacity for aging. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand in 5 kg boxes, then left to rest for 10-15 days in ventilated rooms.
After complete destemming and pressing, the must macerates for 9 days, with frequent punching down and pumping over to enhance the colour and structure.
The wine ages in stainless steel tanks, with fine lees in suspension and spontaneous malolactic fermentation, which softens the tannins while maintaining great complexity.
With an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections, the aroma has hints of ripe forest fruit, with spicy and balsamic notes.
The taste is tannic and structured, with a marked persistence that leaves the palate enveloped in deep sensations.
Thanks to its tannicity and its important structure, Groppello IGT Veneto is the ideal companion for succulent red meats, roast goose, head stew and tasty game.
It also lends itself to aging, evolving elegantly over the years.
It is recommended to serve at 16°C, allowing it to oxygenate before tasting to best enhance its aromas and complexity.
