Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2013
The Product in Brief:
This 2013 Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG is a wine of great depth, a symbol of the Valpolicella terroir and winemaking tradition. It is made from a historic blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Oseleta, sourced from the Fondo Cereolo, Monte Tenda, and Castello vineyards, located between 140 and 290 meters above sea level. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand, from the second week of September until the end of October, with a rigorous selection of the finest bunches. After harvesting, the grapes are left to dry in drying rooms for approximately two months, resulting in a natural weight loss of 50%.
This concentrates aromas, sugars, and structure. Aged in French oak barriques, the wine develops complexity, elegance, and a velvety texture. The aromatic profile is broad and rich: cherries in alcohol, chocolate, blackberry, morello cherry, spices, floral notes, tobacco, licorice, and vanilla. The palate is sumptuous, powerful, and harmonious: warm, smooth, well-structured, with a very intense and clean flavor. The well-integrated freshness supports a long, balanced, and persistent finish, among the finest expressions of the appellation.
