Pinot Nero 2019 Magnum
The Product in Brief:
The 2019 Pinot Noir by Marco Buvoli – Opificio del Pinot Noir is produced in the Berici Hills from grapes grown in two vineyards on clay and limestone soils. The final part of the summer was pleasantly cool, with a good temperature range between day and night: ideal conditions for preserving fragrance and aromatic precision. In the first half of September, the Tramontana wind favored a slow and balanced ripening of the bunches, bringing healthy and perfectly balanced grapes to the cellar. The harvest is manual, and destemming is done slowly to preserve the integrity of the berries, a crucial step in enhancing the fruity and varietal characteristics of the Pinot Noir. Thanks to the excellent polyphenolic ripeness achieved, maceration is extended to achieve a rich extraction from the skins and seeds.
After pressing, the wine is immediately transferred to new French oak tonneaux, where it ages for approximately 15 months. Once aging is complete, the wine is racked from the barrels and allowed to decant naturally for a couple of months before bottling, which took place in spring 2021. It then ages extensively in bottle for a further 36 months, designed to integrate and blend the fruity and spicy notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and quite full-bodied, with elegant, silky tannins that complement notes of red and black berries, wild herbs, dark spices, and a subtle nuance of roasted coffee. A Pinot Noir that, with aging, is destined to further develop in harmony and depth.
