Dama del Rovere

Dama del Rovere

There are companies born from a project, and others born from a deep conviction. Dama del Rovere belongs to the latter category. Their philosophy is encapsulated in a simple phrase: "We live by this work." It's not a slogan, but a daily responsibility. Every choice, in the vineyard and in the cellar, directly affects their future. The company was founded with the 2003 harvest in Brognoligo di Monteforte d’Alpone, in the heart of the Soave Classico area, by the will of brothers Massimo and Davide Prà, fourth-generation winemakers.

Davide tends to the countryside, while Massimo oversees the cellar. But every decision is shared and built together. The project develops across two complementary territories. In Brognoligo, on the volcanic hills of Soave Classico, Garganega roots itself in deep, mineral-rich basaltic soils. The East/North-East exposures and the volcanic nature of the soil give the wines structure, marked savoriness, and that typical bitter almond note that identifies great Soave.

In Brenton di Roncà, on the slopes of the Lessini Mountains, the vineyards are located at an altitude of 450–500 meters. Here, the strong temperature variations between day and night preserve freshness and aromatic integrity. It is in this context that Durella grows, an indigenous variety naturally rich in acidity and mineral salts, ideal for Metodo Classico sparkling wine production. Massimo has been working for years on sparkling wine bases with a precise and patient approach, founded on the accumulation of various vin de réserve which, season after season, are stored and then blended to create consistent and recognizable cuvées. This work is now structured as a true perpetuelle: a dynamic reserve in which small quantities of wines from previous vintages are kept alive and progressively integrated into subsequent blends, helping to build depth, stylistic continuity, and vineyard memory over time. This method has also been refined through significant professional experience in Burgundy, where the culture of blending, precision, and time is an integral part of the production identity. Aging on the lees becomes a central step: 15 months, 24 months, 36 months, up to 60 months for the Brut Nature. It is during this long wait that Durella finds balance, depth, and identity.

Dama del Rovere is part of the Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers: each bottle is made exclusively from grapes from their own vineyards and all stages, from vineyard to bottling, are directly overseen by the family. In the vineyard, harvesting is manual, in the cellar technology and precision are tools at the service of the raw material.

Dama del Rovere is the meeting between the volcanic Garganega of Soave and the Durella of Lessini. Between altitude and mineral depth. Between peasant memory and the culture of time.

Alongside Metodo Classico sparkling wines, the company produces still wines from Garganega, Trebbiano di Soave, and Riesling, as well as a passito that tells the other soul of the territory. Different projects, but with a common thread: tension, savoriness, and respect for their origin.
