The Product in Brief:

✓ Superior Red Vermouth of Turin

✓ Original recipe from Monferrato Rosso DOC

✓ Alcohol content: 17% vol

✓ Spicy, balsamic, and elegant profile

Tenuta Vallone's Vermouth di Torino Superiore Rosso D.O.P. originates in Conzano, in the heart of Monferrato Casalese in Piedmont, a UNESCO World Heritage site long dedicated to quality viticulture. The wine base is obtained from Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Albarossa grapes grown according to organic standards on marl and calcareous soils, which impart elegance, structure, and aromatic depth. This Vermouth is born from an exclusive Tenuta recipe that calls for the use of aromatic herbs and spices of ancient Piedmontese harvest and cultivation. The processing involves cold infusion of the botanicals, followed by slow maceration for several weeks and subsequent percolation extraction, a method that preserves all the aromatic richness and delicacy of the medicinal components.

Visually, it presents a brilliant ruby red color. On the nose, intense balsamic and spicy notes emerge, blending with elegant citrus and officinal hints. In the mouth, the sip is harmonious, enveloping, and balanced, characterized by pleasant bitter sensations that provide persistence and complexity. Perfect as an aperitif, both neat and on the rocks, it is ideal for preparing classic cocktails such as Negroni, Americano, and Manhattan. Thanks to its structure and aromatic depth, it is also wonderfully suited as a meditation wine, accompanied by dark chocolate or crumbly desserts. After opening, refrigeration is recommended to preserve its integrity and aromatic elegance.

The Territory

Amidst the rolling hills of southeastern Piedmont, Monferrato paints a landscape of vineyards, medieval villages, and tuff stone farmhouses that time seems to have forgotten. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 2014, this region stretches between the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, embracing one of Italy's richest and most authentic food and wine traditions. Monferrato's winemaking vocation is centuries old: here, Barbera finds its most sincere and generous expression, alongside Grignolino—elegant and tannic—Freisa, and Ruché, a rare and fragrant grape variety that grows almost exclusively in Castagnole Monferrato. On the higher slopes, Cortese and Moscato also thrive, yielding fresh and aromatic white wines. But Monferrato is not just about wine. It is a land of white truffles, agnolotti del plin, bagna caòda, cheeses like Robiola di Roccaverano PDO, and Piedmont hazelnuts PGI. It is a peasant cuisine elevated to art, where every product tells of the indissoluble bond between man and hill. Choosing Monferrato products means bringing to the table a region that has made quality and tradition its identity.

The Producer

There are territories that speak through the landscape, and wineries that choose to listen to them with respect and responsibility. Tenuta Vallone was born from this vision: to preserve an authentic fragment of Monferrato and transform it into wines capable of telling its soul. Located in Conzano, in the heart of Monferrato Casalese, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its wine landscapes, the winery develops around a rare and precious vineyard: an enclos of only two hectares, exposed to the sun and rooted in marl and calcareous soils that have always been suited to great Piedmontese viticulture. Production is deliberately limited and comes from exclusively manual processes, from pruning to harvesting. The choice to train the vines using the Guyot system and to maintain low yields allows for concentrated, expressive, and deeply territorial grapes. In the cellar, careful macerations and initial maturation in steel accompany the wines towards a possible evolution in oak wood, always respecting balance and finesse. Grignolino, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Albarossa, and Arneis thus become interpreters of an elegant, distinctive, and contemporary style. The history of Tenuta Vallone is rooted in centuries.

The rural building that houses the winery today was built in 1812 by Count Pio Hieronymus Vidua, a central figure in Piedmontese culture and a protagonist of the political life of the Kingdom of Sardinia. The ancient underground cellars of brick and canton stone bear witness to an agricultural tradition spanning the 18th and 19th centuries, which continues to thrive today through conscious, respectful, and deeply territorial viticulture. The context of Gran Monferrato, elected European Wine City 2024, further reinforces the cultural and landscape value of this production reality. Tenuta Vallone adheres with conviction to the principles of organic farming, certified by BioAgriCert. In the vineyard, only natural substances are used for defense and fertilization, while at the winery, energy comes from photovoltaic and geothermal systems. The focus on sustainability also extends to the choice of entirely recyclable and low environmental impact packaging materials. A vision that combines ethics, technique, and responsibility towards the Monferrato landscape. Tenuta Vallone is the expression of an intimate and authentic Monferrato. Few hectares, limited productions, and organic viticulture that transforms the territory into liquid identity. Alongside the great Piedmontese reds, the winery offers refined interpretations of indigenous grape varieties, up to a vintage Spumante Rosé Metodo Classico that tells the story of Monferrato's ability to evolve without losing its historical roots.

Each bottle is produced in numbered editions, approximately 11,000 per year, as a synthesis of technical precision and territorial sensitivity.
